If there is a better way to get into the festive spirit than paying a visit to Father Christmas himself in Finnish Lapland, we can't think of it. This luxury, family-friendly Big Short Break to Finnish Lapland is the perfect way to kick off the Christmas holidays in style.

Route

Everything is 100% tailored to you
DAY 1

International Flight

There are several flights from the UK to Finnish Lapland every day, each with a short stop in Helsinki, so depending on which one we've booked, you will arrive between early and late evening. Don't forget to bring the children's Sharky & George pack, which will be full of exciting things for them to do. When you have picked up your bags, you will be met by one of our team on the ground for the 45-minute transfer to your lodge hotel.

This evening you will be treated to a privately catered meal cooked by a private chef, so after you've settled in and checked out your private sauna, you will tuck in to a delicious supper.

DAY 2

Husky Safari

Bright and early this morning, you will head off on your first adventure. After a short 'how to,' you will be kitted out in thermal clothes and will set off. With one parent per sledge, you will race through the forest to reach your campfire lunch. Over lunch, you will hear stories from your champion musher guide, and learn more about how huskies live and train. This evening, you will be met by an expert guide to go on a hunt for the legendary and elusive Northern Lights. After a short private transfer, you will strap on your snow shoes and walk to a truly isolated spot away from light pollution. Here you will, hopefully, be able to spot the Aurora Borealis as your guide explains the science behind the magical light show.

DAY 3

Santa's Grotto

After a morning of ice fishing, you will be taken to visit Father Christmas by horse-drawn carriage. The elves will meet you and guide you to Elf School to make some delicious ginger biscuits and Christmas decorations - the big man's favourites. Biscuits in hand, you will make your way to his office for a private meeting guaranteed to keep the magic alive for any doubters. Your audience with St Nick is private, so we can arrange for the children's letters, and wish lists, to be waiting for them when you arrive. The most impeccably behaved children (and adults) will get then receive a few early presents from Father Christmas, before you make your way back to your lodge for one final night. If you caught anything on the fishing trip - there are plenty of perch and arctic char in the waters around Lapland - the chef at your lodge will cook it up for your supper, which will include plenty of traditional Finnish dishes.

DAY 4

International Flight

After breakfast, and one last snowball fight, you will be privately transferred to the airport for your flight home, which will include a short stop in Helsinki, before you land in the late evening.
