What can you expect on Tanzania honeymoons that you won't find anywhere else?

We’re not sure there are many more perfect honeymoon destinations than Tanzania. Incredible safari opportunities and swathes of beautiful beach make this the ideal ‘bush and beach’ destination, but for anyone wanting to deviate from what is, to be frank, a pretty nailed on amazing honeymoon combo, there’s plenty more besides.

Let's start with what the country does oh so very well. First, there's the wildlife, which rivals that in northerly neighbour Kenya. The Serengeti is the obvious spot in which to see the action, and home to millions of wildebeest and other plains game and the carnivores that are in constant close attendance.

Add in some of the finest safari lodges in Africa and this is a tough act to follow, but Tanzania can also boast the Ngorongoro Crater, the largest ancient volcanic caldera in the world and basically an open air zoo.

Further south the Selous and Ruaha National Parks are fast challenging the Serengeti's pre-eminence, offering nearly the same volume and quality of game but with just a fraction of the visitors. The lodges and camps here are again some of the best in the business for honeymooners.

When you're safari satiated there's nothing nicer than a stint on the picture perfect white sand beaches of the Tanzanian coast and islands. Take your pick from some of the Indian Ocean's best beach lodges, including the likes of private island paradise Mnemba.

Zanzibar and the Spice Islands also have an appealing cultural angle and excellent diving and fishing potential for when (if) lolling about on the beach is just too much like hard work.

And if you want a little more adventure still on your Tanzania honeymoon, way out west on the shores of Lake Tanganyika is the seriously romantic Greystoke Mahale lodge from where guests can explore the Mahale mountains and watch habituated chimpanzees going about their daily lives.

More adventurous still, and probably not for anyone wanting to fly and flop after all that wedmin, is the chance to climb Mount Kilimanjaro. Granted, this might not feel like the most obvious choice of honeymoon pastime, but we are seeing an increase in clients wanting to achieve something more than a tan on their Tanzania honeymoons. Each to their own and all that.
