Norway’s sales pitch is remarkably simple; it is one of the most beautiful places on Earth. Wild, northern landscapes double as adventure playgrounds, while modern cites live in harmony with their surroundings. The Northern Lights dance in the sky, as the snow melts, turning the white-frosted land into a green-Eden come springtime. No matter the time of year, Norway family holidays are unforgettable. Winter means grabbing your snow-shoes and trekking through a white-wonderland of snow-covered trees, or maybe a spot of ice-fishing for your supper. Gear up for an exhilarating sledding ride with some eager huskies,
in the Norwegian wilderness, or for thrilling snow-rafting down the slopes. Once the snow thaws and the sun emerges once again, there is fishing, cycling, and canoeing to be enjoyed. The Artic midnight sun ensures the land is lit with golden light throughout the night, meaning there is no end to the adventures here – except perhaps the yawns of the little ones as they grow weary from the excitement. For those seeking the bright lights of a city, head to Oslo and explore the Viking ship museum, or go backstage at the opera house for a perfect city day-out for children and parents alike. The perfection for families doesn’t stop with the activities on offer, Norwegians are warm, easy going and very welcoming to children. Head to the north for your next adventure - a fun family foray that you wont forget in a hurry.

Just home from the most incredible trip to Northern Norway. We had it all from clear skies and bright sunshine to full snowstorms, and saw plenty of the northern lights.
Thank you again to The Voyageurs Collection for organising such an incredible experience for us.
Whether your tribe includes energy-filled tiny tots or teens who need a little more convincing, Norway family holidays are full of adventures for all ages. If you’re planning your trip for winter, there are endless adventure to be hand in the snowy landscapes. Jump on a husky-pulled sled and ‘mush’ through Jotunheimen National Park until you reach your lunch camp, complete with reindeer skins, a dancing fire and views over the glassy, azure waters of the fjords below. For the ultimate adrenaline-pumping activity, head to the Lillehammer luge track where you can race like the very bravest of winter Olympians or head north to catch a glimpse of a barnacle-crusted sperm whale bobbing beneath the icy waves. When the midnight sun finally fades and the viridescent greens of the northern lights dance across the sky, spend a magical evening in the moose observation tower where your wildlings can safely encounter Norway’s ‘King of the Forest’. Armed with our Sharkey and George fun packs, you can rest easy knowing that the chilly evenings and long journeys are fun for the whole family.
When the snow melts away, shed some layers, and continue your outdoor adventures. Follow in the footsteps of Elsa on a Frozen tour where even the littlest adventurers can experience unparalleled excitement when exploring this Nordic wonderland, without getting chilly toes. Wander through the pine-clad passages of the western city of Bergen with an expert guide, where Frozen fans will find that the picture-perfect harbour town filled with soft-pastel hues, looks very much like the magical Kingdom of Arendelle in summer. Finish the evening dressed in a fur lined poncho with an ice glass in hand at the city’s Magic Ice Bar where you will find yourself surrounded by the glistening work of world-renowned ice carvers in an Arctic Circle wonderland. From mountain meandering cable-cars and viewing platforms at knee-knocking heights with unimpeded views of forested fjords, to the Viking ship museum and open bus tours around Oslo which are perfect for tired little legs, Norway family holidays provide endless cultural excitements all year round.
