Volcanoes National Park
With little more than 1,000 mountain gorillas remaining in the world, Volcanoes National Park is one of only three places to catch a glimpse of them. Rwanda safari holidays can include this once-in-a-lifetime experience of gorilla trekking, with the national park’s dramatic volcanic landscape offering a breath-taking backdrop. Gorillas aren’t the only endangered species who inhabit the park and Golden Monkeys can also be seen clambering through the canopy.
Akagera and Nyungwe National Parks
Combine Volcanoes National Park with Akagera and Nyungwe National Parks for the ultimate wildlife experience during Rwanda safari holidays. Akagera is a recognised Big Five destination, so you can participate in a classic African safari. Nyungwe National Park is known for its spectacular birdlife, featuring 16 endemic species, as well as its resident butterfly population which swirls through the air in a cloud of colour. Canopy walkways throughout the park allow visitors to get up close to these sky bound creatures.
