Cosmopolitan Mykonos is renowned for its nightlife (it has been described as the Ibiza of the Aegean, but the jury is out as to whether that's a good thing or not), its trademark windmills and its attractive 'capital' Hora, considered one of the most beautiful towns in the Cyclades. Hora boasts the photogenic 'Little Venice' area, where the buildings overhang the sea, superb shopping, and restaurants ranging from chic sushi bars to cosy tavernas. There are also lots of off-the-beaten-track sandy beaches that are perfect for relaxation; Lia and Agrari are two of our favourites.
