Stay in the Lofoten Islands in a 'rorbuer' a converted fishing cabin on stilts over the water
The name alone evokes a change of scenery and a feeling of being far away: LOFOTEN. With its fjord-laden terrain, quiet and peaceful meadows where flocks of sheep have taken up residence and fishing villages dotted along the bays, the Lofoten Islands archipelago really delivers. It's a diverse destination that will appeal to those who enjoy aesthetic contemplation, sportsmen in search of outdoor activities, visitors in search of a welcoming hospitality and bird lovers. And to really immerse yourself in the experience, you'll sleep in a traditional 'rorbuer', a refurbished cabin on stilts where fishermen stayed during long fishing voyages. The soul of these old lodges has not been compromised for the sake of comfort; in fact, it's quite the opposite. It's an authentic experience in a beautiful setting.Route
