Route

Everything is 100% tailored to you
DAY 1

International Flight

Depending on which of the three-hour flights from the UK to Malta we have booked for you - there are several a day - you will land between late morning and early evening. Once you have cleared customs and collected your bags, one of our team on the ground will meet you for a short private transfer to your hotel in the heart of the baroque beauty of a capital, Valletta. For the rest of today, we recommend getting out and finding your bearings. Your handy and detailed destination Dossier is full of our favourite things to see and do and we can also pre-book a table at one of the best restaurants in town for dinner.

DAY 2

Island Tour

Malta is such a tiny island that it would be a shame to not see as much as possible of it during your trip, so after breakfast your expert guide and driver will meet you at your hotel for a private full day tour of the island. You will begin by heading half an hour west, to Mdina. According to legend, when St Paul washed up on the shores of Malta he was met by the Roman governor of the island - Publius - at the spot where St Paul's Cathedral now stands, and this is where your tour will begin. Rebuilt in just five years after it was damaged in the 1693 Sicily Earthquake, the baroque beauty stands on top of millennia of history, which you will explore with your expert guide before returning to Valetta to continue your exploration of the island's history. Alternative activities could include a full day tour of the south of the island; an art history tour of Valetta or a tour of prehistoric Malta taking in the island's many Neolithic and Bronze Age temples.

DAY 3

Gozo

After breakfast this morning you will be met by one of our team for a private transfer to your hotel on Gozo. After a short drive to the port, you and your driver will board a ferry to Gozo, where you will head to your hotel. Your hire car will be waiting for you here. After lunch, we recommend getting out and exploring the island. We will include a Gozo specific Dossier with your final documents, so we recommend heading to some of our favourite spots before dinner. Gozo is renowned as one of the finest - if not the finest - dive destination in the Mediterranean. We work with the best dive centre and can arrange an afternoon of diving.

DAY 4

Island Tour

Today is all about getting to grips with the history of Gozo. Beginning with it's pre-historic origins, you will visit the Ggantija Temples - which are both gigantic and five hundred years older than our own megalithic monuments at Stonehenge. Your guide will explain how early Gozitans (their collective noun) believed the temples were built by giants, and it isn't hard to see why with the colossal stones weighing up to 50 tons! Form here, you will visit spots across the island which have played a role in its history, before finishing at the Cittadella Cathedral. Another baroque beauty, it was also built after the original was damaged during the 1693 earthquake, and your guide will help you explore its history - from Roman temple (to Juno, wife of Jupiter) to modern day cathedral. We can also arrange for you to charter a boat to explore the coastline of Gozo or drop anchor by the beautiful Blue Lagoon on the even smaller island of Comino to go swimming or snorkelling.

DAY 5

International Flight

You will be privately transferred back to the ferry port and then to the airport in good time for the three-and-a-half-hour flight back to London.
