Located in northern Tanzania, Tarangire National Park is a great secret safari spot, with fewer visitors than many of the more famous national parks. Spanning over 1,770 miles and crossed by the Tarangire River, the park boasts magnificent landscapes from flat plains dotted with baobab trees to swamps where animals come to drink. In the dry season, around October, there are only a few water holes left in these vast areas, which are usually flooded in November and December and again between March and May. On a Tarangire National Park safari, you will be able to see buffaloes, zebras, impalas, and giraffes,
as well as an impressive number of elephants congregating along the riverbanks.
